in according to the IEEE requirement, or the paper may not be published in IEEE
Explore Digital Library (and EI).
The
presentation is a sharing of experience and is not an examination. Delegates shall take it easy and have a
good practice is communicating his research result in the presentation, not
with any pressure at all.
Delegates should not worry the English presentation but should treat it
as an oral practice and learning process.
Oral
Presentation enable author to share their knowledge and experience with experts
and researchers. Authors
should relax, just summarize the key points of the Paper and give 10-15 minutes
talk. It is not another exam for student authors, just like talking to your
colleagues will do.
The
allocated presentation time for each paper is 15 minutes which includes the
time for questions and answer from the audiences. In general, each PPT slide
presentation takes 30 seconds, so your PPT should not have more than 30 slides.
Presenters
are required to report to their Session Chairs at least 10 minutes prior to the
start of their Session. All oral presentations must be loaded from USB into the
note-book and tested before the session. PDF, Power Point are
recommended. Movies or animations in MPEG, Windows Media, and etc., should be
tested before the session.
Poster Presentation
One of the Paper Author should presented his paper in the Poster Session
assigned and standby to discussion and answer questions during the whole Poster
Session time slot. Relax and just like chit-chatting with your
colleagues.
You have to design your poster which should highlight
your research results and demonstrate the good points with graphic illustration.
Each poster paper will be given one panel of about 1m (Width) x 2m (Height) for the presentation. Stationary
and helps will be available in the Poster Session.
Presenters should prepare, bring and to the conference

Enhancing QoS in Beamforming Networks:
Mobile Beamformers and Optimal Motion Policies
Athina Petropulu, Rutgers University,USA
Distributed, networked communication systems, such as relay beamforming networks are typically designed without
considering how the positions of the respective nodes might affect the quality
of the communication. That is, network nodes are either assumed to be
stationary in space, or, if some of them are moving while communicating, their
trajectories are assumed to be independent of the respective communication
task. However, in most cases, the Channel State Information (CSI) observed by
each network node, per channel use is both spatially and temporally correlated.
One could then ask whether the performance of the communication system could be
improved by predictively controlling the positions of
the network nodes (e.g., the relays), based on causal CSI estimates and by
exploiting the spatiotemporal dependencies of the communication medium. In this
talk, we address the problem of enhancing Quality-of-Service (QoS) in power constrained, mobile relay beamforming
networks, by optimally exploiting relay mobility. We consider a time slotted
system, where the relays update their positions before the beginning of each
time slot. Adopting a spatiotemporal stochastic field model of the wireless
channel, we propose a novel 2-stage stochastic programming formulation for
specifying the relay positions at each time slot, such that the QoS of the network is maximized on average, based on causal
CSI and under a total relay transmit power budget. The motion control problem
considered is shown to be approximately equivalent to a set of simple subproblems, which can be solved in a distributed fashion,
one at each relay. Numerical simulations are presented, corroborating the
efficacy of the proposed approach and confirming its properties.

Sequential estimation and diffusion of information over networks
Petar M. Djurić
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Stony Brook University
Stony Brook, NY 11794
Abstract
Collaborative estimation of parameters of stochastic models in networks from observations made by individual nodes is a core topic in the field of signal and information processing over networks. In this talk, we formulate the problem of collaborative sequential estimation of unknown parameters where information in the network diffuses with time. The formulation is abstract and independent from any particular model. Our objective is to reach a generic solution that is applicable to a wide class of popular models. We adopt the Bayesian and information-theoretic paradigms so that we have at our disposal probabilistically consistent means for incorporation of the observations in the implemented estimation and for effective combination of the gained “knowledge” by the nodes in the network. The presented theory will be demonstrated by examples.

Smart Ocean and
Signal Processing
Jun-Hong (June)
Cui, Ph.D.
Director, Smart Ocean Research Center, Jilin University, China
Abstract
The last decade has seen a
big R&D wave in terrestrial sensor networks, in which the embedded
networked sensing technologies have revolutionized the way for human being to
understand and interact with the physical world on the land. This decade will
witness a revolution for the water world: distributed cyber-aquatic systems
(aka. Smart Ocean Technology) will enable us to deploy static and mobile
systems in an underwater environment, significantly enhancing the spatial and
temporal dimensions of our monitoring and exploration capabilities. These new
technologies bridging the cyber and aquatic worlds will transform the ways in
observing and understanding the sparsely sampled oceans, estuaries, lakes and
rivers. The smart ocean technology will deploy static and mobile systems with
sensing, communication and computing capabilities so that the spatial coverage
is greatly increased; meanwhile the approach will exploit advanced power
harvesting, storage and management techniques to lengthen the system lifetime.
These spatial-temporal scalable systems will significantly improve the
monitoring and exploration capabilities in many critical applications. To make
such a system a reality, many challenging intellectual problems need to be
solved.
This
talk will first discuss the challenges from five aspects: communication, power,
sensing, platform and cyber-control. Then it will introduce the philosophy of
“Smart Ocean”, and, through a couple of examples, illuminate how the philosophy
guides the research in various aspects. After that, it will focus on the role
of “signal processing” in the wide research spectrum of smart ocean technology,
and discuss some relevant methodologies.
